Saint Luke's United Church is seeking an individual to fill the role of Communications & Graphic Design Coordinator as part of the Canada Summer Student Jobs Program for 2022.  This is a ten (10) week program at 35 hours per week with an anticipated start date of June 1, 2022.

Start date: ASAP, June 2022

End date: September 2022


Job description:

The employee will be responsible for supporting the church in updating digital resources such as the website, social media accounts, and organizational communication tools such as newsletter publishing software.  The goal of this position is to help equip staff and volunteers at Saint Luke's United Church with knowledge to transition towards more current and effective practices around communication and social media technologies.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Experience working with social media: Facebook, Instagram

  • Working knowledge of G-Suite and related products

  • Web design (our current website is Wix based)

  • Ability to develop elements with graphic design such as social media posts and PowerPoint presentations

  • Big-picture thinker who can help strategize the tools and skills needed to create cohesion amongst staff in regards to communication technology being used.

  • Independent worker with initiative: this contract will involve managing several projects as well as the possibility to develop projects based on the individual's creative direction and skill set

  • Youth between the ages of 15 to 30 are eligible to apply for this position

  • Good verbal and communication skills, meticulous attention to detail and results oriented

  • Knowledge and basic understanding of the United Church is an asset


This is a 35 hour/week 10 week contract set at $17.20/hour.

Cambridge Foodbank Spring Food Drive


The Cambridge Foodbank is asking for our help with their Spring Food Drive running from March 21st to May 31st.    

They want us to know that they appreciate EVERYTHING that we do, to give as we are able, and that no donation is too small.


The Grocery Cart is at the back of the sanctuary ready & waiting for any & all grocery donations.

We Are Collecting


Men's, women's and children's clothes, coats, shoes, scarves, handbags, wallets, fashion accessories, ties, belts, backpacks, etc.

Household Textiles

Bedding, comforters, blankets, sheets, towels, linens, tablecloths, curtains, pillows, etc.

Small Household Goods

Kitchen items (such as pots/pans, dishes, silverware, glasses, serving pieces, and hand held appliances), home decorative items, knick-knacks, toys, games, and small electronics.

Please use bags for clothes and textiles and tightly packed boxes for small household goods.

All items must be clean and in sellable condition.

Please drop off at the church on a Sunday morning, Thursday or Friday 10am - 2pm, or during the month of May at Truckin' Tuesday 4 - 8pm or TEXT 226-972-7141 to make arrangements.

Our goal is to raise $500 to aid in our work within the church and community.

We will require approximately 145 large yard bags of clothes and textiles as well as 50 medium boxes of household good to achieve this.
